November 4, 2010—(NEW YORK) Seeking to decrease the wealth gap between people of color and mainstream America, KEEPING IT RICH WITH SAKINA will premiere on BET.com on Wednesday, November 17 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The loosely based “financial reality” talk show features award-winning personal finance journalist and entrepreneur Sakina Spruell Cole talking candidly with her personal financial advisors, colleagues and friends offering advice, information and tips on living the ‘rich’ life. The four part web series will air four consecutive weeks beginning November 17th.
“I wanted to partner the KEEPING IT RICH WITH SAKINA show and BET.com because I believe together we can truly make an impact in closing the wealth gap,” says Sakina Spruell Cole, who is the host and CEO of Cole Media Inc which produces the show. “It is my hope that my comfort and candor in discussing my own financial situations leads viewers to become more communicative and thereby more savvy with their money.”
Various episodes of the series will feature conversations with experts on the topics of insurance, mortgage and credit, as well as “Who’s Keeping it Rich?” episodes. These episodes feature conversations with high net-worth individuals who are living their own definition of a rich lifestyle.
Besides the web show, the Keeping It Rich™ brand also includes a seminar and a column for college students. All of the products deliver personal finance information in a lively and upbeat format with the intent to educate its audience about wealth building strategies. Since 2003, Keeping It Rich™ has built a substantial and steadily growing fan base of teens, students and college-educated individuals from around the country through its unique blend of important information and easy to understand language.
